Top skills for September 2021

Hybrid teams

Hybrid teams are gaining popularity, but business leaders know they also require extra attention. “The top priority of a hybrid leader is to make sure all employees are treated fairly,” says Udemy instructor Hassan Osman. This doesn’t mean taking a one-size-fits-all approach. Instead, leaders should evaluate each team and consider what works best from the job and the employee’s perspective. Hear more from Hassan on managing hybrid teams in his recent webinar.

Microsoft SC-900

Cloud technology is gaining traction, especially in the business world. Gartner forecasts that 14% of enterprise IT spending will go to cloud technology by 2024 (up from 9% in 2020). And Microsoft Azure continues to be one of the dominant players in the cloud space. The Microsoft SC-900 exam covers the fundamentals of security, compliance, and identity across cloud-based Microsoft services. The content of the SC-900 exam was updated in July 2021, likely prompting the September surge of consumption of this topic.

Top skills in select countries for September 2021

This month there’s not one particular skill that’s most popular globally, but there are a few trends. Skills related to self-mastery like time management and personal productivity are trending in Mexico, Brazil, and Japan. Whether employees are returning to the office, working from home, or exploring a hybrid work setup, these core skills will continue to serve them well.

As we noted earlier, interest in cloud technology continues to grow. We see topics related to the cloud — like Microsoft Azure, AWS, and the Microsoft AZ-104 exam — trending in Mexico, France, and Spain.
