More than 100 attendees gathered at our office last Wednesday evening for a thought-provoking discussion on the hot topic of diversity in the workplace – a crucial aspect of today’s modern work culture proven to contribute to increased business profits. As panel moderator Sophie Kitson shared in her opening remarks: “Diversity is how we build the best talent. Diverse teams create and perform.”
Networking and conversations among HR pros from the Bay Area’s leading companies flowed over great appetizers and drinks. The engaging panel discussion delved into key issues, challenges and best practices regarding recruiting and hiring processes, the notion of culture fit, performance review bias, women in leadership, age diversity and management training.
Big thanks to our moderator Sophie Kitson, VP, People, Talent & Vibe at PagerDuty, panelists Cris Barrett, VP, People & Places at Axcient, Lisa-Maree Wallace, Head of People Operations at Lyft, Naureen Manekia Seyal, Head of People Operations at Medium, Lisa Lee, Diversity Program Manager at Pandora, and to all of you who attended.
The event was hosted by Udemy for Business and was part of an on-going panel series, HR Innovators. If you’re interested in attending a future HR Innovators event, just email firstname.lastname@example.org to be included on our invite list!
